I'm Alden. I moved west a while back, got deep into the outdoors, and did what a lot of people do when they catch that bug: I wanted the best gear I could get my hands on.

So I did the homework. I spent hours on sites like this one, reading reviews before I put money down on a tent or a pack or a stove. Basecamp Gadgets is me passing that along. I review the gear I actually use out there so you can skip the digging I did and get straight to the good stuff.

It all covers camping and outdoor gear, plus the cool gadgets that come with it. Everything on here is stuff I've used myself.

And if a piece of gear isn't worth your money, I'll say so.
