I'm Alden. I camp and hike a fair bit, and this site is where I write up the gear I bring so you can figure out what's worth buying without guessing.

Everything here covers camping and outdoor gear: tents, packs, water filters, cook kits, power, lights, and the odd gadget. When a review is based on something I own and have taken on trips, I say so and I use my own photos. When I'm comparing gear I haven't personally carried, I say that too. I'd rather tell you "I haven't tested this one myself" than pretend.

The site pays for itself through affiliate links, but no brand pays me, nothing is sponsored, and if gear isn't worth your money I'll say so.
